GRRRLY - 2021
The focus of this series was the idea of a threatening allure and the archetype of vamp or femme fatale that embodies those dissonant qualities. These figures take up space between a cultivated sophistication and the brutal forces of primeval nature. For all the paintings in the GRRRLY series, I wanted to contrast a very soft feminine pink against a muscular tension unfolding in the narrative.
