The Hexen series will study the archetype of the witch as a figure of quiet, transformative power. These paintings move between elemental extremes. Drawing inspiration from the sophisticated magic of mid-century cinema, channeling the cool elegance of Kim Novak in Bell, Book and Candle alongside the darker, atmospheric tension of Rosemary’s Baby. These works move through supernatural moments where the internal world begins to shape reality.
I began working on this series in January 2026 and the first few paintings will be featured in the following group show exhibitions. The full Hexen series will be released gradually in various group shows around the world. To stay informed, sign up to the Troy Brooks the E-Mail List here.
